Jonestown author reads at Books Benicia

Judy Bebelaar presents her book about Jonestown teenagers at Books Benicia. 

In September 1976, Reverend Jim Jones chose San Francisco’s Opportunity II High for his People’s People students.

Because of his decision, co-authors and former teachers Judy Bebelaar and Ron Cabral taught these students.

And Then They Were Gone introduces 28 of those Temple teenagers. The book focuses on the fifteen Bebelaar and Cabral knew best.

The book traces the journey of those who attended the small school. It follows them until their sudden departures to Jonestown in the spring and summer of 1977. Most of the teenagers never returned.
